Keeping it in the family

This was our first photo of the 2004 Chevy truck - a ¾ ton with the big block engine and an allison transmission.  Daddy bought this truck new in July 2004.  It has been a part of the family for a long time!

This truck was there for many Guys Weekends as well as state fair and Branson trips.  It carried great hordes of grandchildren in its bed and behind on sleds.  This was the truck that Jackson worked for 2 years to purchase from Grandpa, taking over ownership in December 2011.  This truck helped Jackson court Brianna.  :)  It moved Jackson from Willis Creek Ranch to town.  Eventually ownership was transferred to Jonathan when he turned 16.  It continued to be a work horse, a confidant, even a friend.

perhaps working out future ownership plans?  :D

Jonathan saying,
"It's okay... I'll wait my turn after Jackson."  ;)

Over the years it has - supported ingenuity...  :)

When the time came to get a new truck we all felt a little melancholy about getting rid of the 2004.

So you can imagine our joy when the perfect buyer turned up... Jeremy!  What a blessing to be able to 'keep it in the family'.  We all celebrated the official transfer of ownership one more time - this time from Jonathan to Jeremy.  We gathered all the former and current owners of the 2004 Chevy together for photos.  :)

Original owners - Jack & Sue

Brianna, Jackson, Jack and Sue

Jeremy, Shonda, Brianna, Jackson, Jonathan

It was never officially 'ours', but it lived in our garage for years.  :D

He looks good!!

There he goes...

I think the 2004 Chevy looks very happy at its new home.  :)
