Brianna's first Elementary Christmas Concert

Mama and I attended the Green City Elementary Christmas program along with Jackson and the Broaches.  This was Brianna's first Christmas program as the music teacher at that school  She is magnificent!  She wrote the program (how does she come up with this stuff?) and had all the students from Preschool through 6th grade engaged, encouraged, and excited.  When it was all over Mama looked at me and exclaimed, "Why, she just did what can't be done!  She kept all those kids going throughout the entire program without losing a single one!"  We sure are proud of her and were so glad to get to watch her in action.  We are also so thankful for the ways in which she is appreciated and loved at that school.  She is having a marvelous first year and looks forward to many more.

One funny... at the beginning the principal (I think?) came out and started the evening with some remarks.  She then told the kids to look at the audience, find their parents, and wave!  Shonda and I looked at each and and laughed noting that Brianna wasn't waving at us!  :D  ha!!  We were all still there for 'our kid' no matter the age of 'our kid'.  Proud parents (and parents in law).  :)

I just love watching the faces on the children as they respond to her.  

They love her and they feel that she loves them.  A beautiful thing.

The program she wrote was adorable.  It was about a brother and sister (Green City Gophers, of course) who argue on Christmas Eve.  The brother doesn’t believe in Santa and the girl does.  All she wants for Christmas is her two front teeth.  :)  He falls asleep and ends up at the North Pole.  He is surprised to see elves exist and they are surprised to see a Green City Gopher.  :)  

This was remarkable. She had the older kids do a rap song and had so much going on at once!  She had that boy in green doing roping... the kids in front rapping, the chorus on the sidelines participating, then she had a couple of kids run out and do acrobatics and breakdancing!  All while keeping everyone engaged and on the same page and feeding them lines and actions with her body.  How on earth?  She is incredible!!!

she wrote a cute part about Santa being a cowboy because "of course he is!  He is the hardest working man around so of course he is a cowboy!"  :)  (that is Santa with the brother)  :) 

She would move throughout the gym to keep kids engaged and bring them out.  

And they responded.  Her energy was phenomenal.

This little girl in green skirt was so happy to be singing and yet still shy. But she locked onto Brianna and just knew she could do it!  Love all those faces.  :) 

Afterwards both students and family wanted to greet and hug Mrs. Mann.  :)
