ICCA 2018

Brianna and Minor Detail competed in the 2018 ICCA Midwest Quarterfinals in St. Louis on Feb. 3.  This was Brianna's final year at ICCA (International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella) as she is a senior at Truman this year and will graduate in May with her Bachelors degree in Music.  (She will return to Truman next year for her Masters degree in Music Education, but won't participate in the extra-curricular activities next year.)  Shonda and I have attended this competition the last 3 years and have been so proud of how Minor Detail has grown as a group.  Their performance this year was truly the best I have ever seen them, anywhere!  They brought everything they had and gave a spectacular performance.  Their choreography and arrangements were absolutely top notch!  What a joy to see them perform with all their hearts.  They brought us and many others in the crowd to our feet in cheers at the end.  We could not be more proud of them!

must have been a night for look-a-likes... the emcee reminded me of my friend, Sondra!  

At last, it was time for Minor Detail to perform.  They were on fire from the moment they walked onto that stage!  It was a perfect performance!!

At the end of the evening we were treated to a special performance by a high school a cappella group.  One young lady, in particular, really caught everyones attention.  She later returned and performed a few original songs.  What a voice and what a talent!  I believe we will be hearing from her in the future.
