2nd Hay Cutting

Sept. 11, 2021

This summer had the right amount of rain to allow for a 2nd cutting of hay.  Jackson had cut it on Wednesday and it dried out well, so Saturday was the day to bale.  It was a ton of hay, but getting any 2nd cutting is wonderful.

Jeremy was raking and Jackson was baling.

It truly is wonderful that Jackson can do this 'in house' now.

Unfortunately, Jonathan and Marvin were sick this week so Jackson was needing some extra help with the whole process.  Dear Adrian came to help pick up bales and put them in the barn.  I love seeing Adrian and Jackson together - they have been friends since they were in pre-school.  That is meaningful and will continue to grow in meaning the older they get.

Jeremy also got some guys from his church to help out.  So nice of them to come and assist.

They were able to get 180 bales.  Jackson only needed 150 so this was a good haul.

I had to get some photos of Jackson and Adrian together before Adrian left.  Of course I waited until after all the hard, sweaty labor!  I've taken photos of these two fellas for over 20 years now!  ha!

Not exactly sure what joke they were making, but it just seemed like old times to me.  :D

Random June

I'm lumping a whole lot into this one post!  Lots of miscellaneous from the month of June.

I got to enjoy patio time one evening. That doesn't happen too often, but I truly do enjoy it.  The sky was lovely this particular evening.

I was able to catch up on our church facebook posts.

It was just so peaceful out.

the moon appearing

We enjoyed leftover burgers and brats on the patio one evening.

Jackson went riding with Jeremy one day while they were all on quarantine.  I was so glad that Shonda shared these photos with me.  :)

Uncle Jonathan was holding Maverick...

... when there came a great rumble.  :D

Uncle Jonathan assessed the situation...

And when another rumble came...

he returned Maverick to his Daddy.  :D

The pool was finally up and I was ready for my first dip!  The water was very cold, but it was so nice to be in!

Marvin got his Father's Day gift put up in the garage.  :)

Loved running into Alicia at the track parking lot.

These four are so special to me.

Dear and wonderful Adrian made a delicious apple pie and delivered it to our garage for us.  It was still warm when he left it on the counter in the garage and we couldn't wait until the next day to try it.  So yummy and so very kind.
