Rojina and Aasha head home

July 14, 2023

We were sure sorry to see dear Rojina and Aasha have to head back home - it has been a wonderful time with them here visiting.  Took some photos as they made the rounds saying goodbye.

Love having them here but know they will be glad to get back home to their own house.

Family Photo Shoot

June 21, 2023
This was a beautiful morning - perfect for a family photo shoot!  We all had these t-shirts to celebrate Carlile's arrival and wanted to get some photos with all of us together and wearing them.  Each t-shirt has both Maverick and Carlile's names along with 'our' name - for example Grandma, GranGran, Nana, Papa, etc.   However, Daddy's t-shirt is extra special and has three names - Maverick, Aasha and Carlile - because he has 3 great grandchildren!  Jackson's shirt is also a bit different - Top Dad was hard to resist for the father of a child named Maverick.  :D  Then Mav and Carlile's shirts say Big Bro and Little Bro (established 2023).  :)  What joy it is to see the love that surrounds these precious boys.

Jackson set us all up for the photos and then handed his good camera off to dear Jennifer who took the shots for us.  (at least the ones that included Jackson)  Wonderful morning!  Love these photos!  So thankful for this family!

This series of photos cracks me up!  Here are Maverick and Carlile's personalities on full display, I do believe.  :D  You can see more on the next post with our candid shots (and commentary) from the morning.  :)

I called to see if Aasha was available to come up and have a photo taken with Great Grandpa Jack, Maverick and Carlile.  She was!  So Julie brought her up.  However, she wasn't quite as interested in the photo shoot.  :D  But we do have photos with all 3 great grands!!!

This one also makes me chuckle!

Sweet Aasha loved the bubbles.  :)

Father's Day

June 18, 2023
Father's Day

This was a great day!  Jennifer and Madeera had arrived the night before and were able to join us for the big family lunch celebrating Father's Day.  What a joy to have them with us!  And it was so much fun to have Jennifer back cooking in the kitchen with me.  We have always had so much fun cooking together.  And no matter how long the time between visits, we just gel.  Sadly, on this day, I terribly overcooked the pork steaks and ribs.  They were perfectly done and then I decided to caramelize them in the oven.  Problem is I then walked away for like 10 minutes!  What on earth was I thinking??  ugh.  Anyway, it was lunch and people ate because they were hungry.  :D  ha!

Appreciated Jackson and Jonathan helping get food ready to serve.

Madeera was excited to talk to Daddy and hear all about ATSU - the history, the dental school, his time as President.  Madeera graduated from the Pennsylvania Osteopathic School and was interested in the 'home' school of ATSU.

Maverick shoed all of us away and only wanted Jennifer near him.  He was super excited to have her here and wanted her to just be right there with him.  This is how every person reacts to Jennifer so I completely understand, Mav!  She is just so fabulous!  :)

Mav concentrating so hard!

Mav and Aasha each found a pair of my readers and were playing around with them.

Mav was a true clown - quoting a movie that I was told what it is but can't remember now... he was saying "Well, well, well... what do we have here?"  He cracks me up!  Theater productions, here we come!

Mav loves these strawberry pies - especially with the 'good sugar' or Redi-Whip in other language.  :D

Aasha and Rojina saying good-bye to Grandpa Jack.  It is just so wonderful to have them here!

What a sweet little bundle!

This was cute.  Marvin asked me to double check that Carlile was comfortable.  He was - he was just all scrunched won.  He kept adjusting down to that position despite being straightened up.  Marvin kept his thumb over his belt buckle just in case Carlile might drop further down and hit it.  But Carlile was sure content!  :D

It rained a few drops... but not really more than that.

Jennifer, Madeera and I enjoyed this wine on the patio that night.  Madeera brought it from a winery in North Carolina.  Very tasty!
