Back home (for a bit)

This was Jonathan's transfer student orientation day on campus.  I drove him there because he didn't have his parking sticker yet.  Excited for him and hope his time at Truman is all that he wants it to be. 

Goodness... had to take photos of the corn on the way home.  It is sooooo lush and gorgeous!  Best it has looked in years!

Daddy had this huge squirrel on his bird feeder.  Oh my... :) 

Ha!  I had texted Jackson to ask if he would be at the garage to help me unload groceries when I got home.  I had not understood that he was out riding Boots.  But he complied - he was there to greet me (and unload the groceries) when I got home.  :D  

Marvin held Boots while Jackson unloaded me.

We enjoyed having Mav here on a Saturday (Brianna is still out of town).   He was ready to jump right into playing in the sandbox. 

Sometimes, though, you are playing and then you need to take a li'l break.  I really think he had a moment of just missing his Mama... actually I think both of the boys in this photo were missing her.  ♡

Jackson said it was time to go home and Mav decided he wasn't quite ready...

He found a little hidey-hole, but it didn't quite do the trick for him...

It was to get up to 100 degrees that afternoon so it was good to go home and have lunch and then take a nap.  

I waited until about 4:00 pm then lathered up with sunscreen and headed to the pool.  It was sooooo hot outside and the pool felt amazing!!  I did my exercises and then floated.  I sure don't want summer to end!

Mav came back with his Daddy to feed the horses and wanted to get in the pool with me.  That will always work, little man!!  :D 

I think Mav agrees with Grandma that the pool is the place to be!  Especially on a hot day like this one!

Goodness... he is just so cute!

Julie made dinner for all.  It was wonderful to not have to do that.  I was able to be in the pool until about 5:40 and then just showed up for supper!!  Matt and Brenda were also there since Matthew was still in town.  Jackson and Mav went on home but Jonathan came.  Marvin still wasn't up to getting out but we took him leftovers.  It was a very nice evening together. 

Brenda wanted to see Boots so I took her over to the field.  It was so hot and humid at this point - way too much humidity for this girl!

We enjoyed family lunch together at Daddy's house after church.  It was so good to have Jackson, Brianna, Maverick and Hannah join us.

Then that evening Hannah and Alan came over with their kids and Hannah rode Boots.  She is the first person (outside the boys) that Marvin has felt comfortable allowing on Boots.  That is high praise for her, indeed!  She is an accomplished rider and sure looked good out there.  It was fun to see Hannah and Jackson enjoying the horses together. 

Meanwhile, Brianna and Alan were hanging out with the kids at the playset.  Brianna was enjoying her baby time holding little Evrett.  :)
