Back in the old days we used to have an
annual summer potluck. It was a wonderful event and SO much work. Covid kind of killed that event and we just haven't brought it back. But we did realize this past spring that our 'neighborhood' is growing and changing. There are several young families who are living in the area now and we just don't know them well enough. So we thought it would be great fun to host a 'neighborhood potluck'. It was a lovely evening and we so enjoyed getting to visit with 'the old guard' as well as the newer, younger families. We were also able to 'welcome' our newest neighbors, Brian and Nancy, to the neighborhood. :) Truly, the evening felt like a success and it brought us great joy to see so many young people putting down roots in the area. Gives great hope for the future out in this neck of the woods.

I asked everyone to go around and introduce themselves and tell where they lived. It was fun to make the connections between current residents and neighbors we remember from those addresses. |

Of course this is the P family - some of my favorite people!! (Alan, Hannah, Leah, Ava, Evrett) Alan's brother Andrew and his wife Amanda (and son) are next in the line. |

One thing I have always loved about potlucks is the amazing food! This night did not disappoint!

I laughed when I saw Mav heading to the playset with his balance bike. He hauled it up the rock wall steps and at that point I alerted his Dad. :D
Yes, the balance bike went down the slide, but thankfully not with Mav on it. :) He just slid down behind it. But I am pretty sure he was contemplating riding it down. :D ha!
These three were so cute! All are 1 year old and they were so intrigued by that tractor and played around it for over an hour.
