These have been sitting in my queue for so long, I don't even know what to say about them anymore. Except that I am really tired of winter. And these two blizzards were a long time ago this winter. We have moved way past these and have been in the throes of ice storms instead. sigh...
Blizzard #1 - this one put down 8-10 inches of snow.

Blizzard #2 - this one came one week after the first one and put down another 4-6 inches of snow. That snow fell on top of the first snow since we had never gotten above freezing for the first snow to melt. Plus, this second snow had a large ice content and was heavy and slick. It stopped the tractor cold when Marvin was trying to plow out our road.

| We had a lot more wind with this one - you can see the moon-like drifting |
Adding on top of Blizzard #2
Our neighbors, Keith and Marilyn, needed propane gas for their heat. The delivery guy tried valiantly to deliver, but as he was backing in the driveway (he must have determined it wasn't safe to come in the regular way for lack of a good place to turn around?) he went off our driveway. That was a bit of a pickle, for sure. A full and very heavy propane truck blocking the driveway with his back wheel off the road... not good. He called a semi-wrecker but that wrecker was so busy with other calls that it took about 5 hours for him to get here. (bad weather all around) The semi-wrecker was able to back down the driveway to the propane truck and get him back up on the road. But it still took awhile to get him fully able to drive away on his own. Note - he left without being able to fill Keith and Marilyn's tank! So they went through the whole next week wondering if they would have heat to last. Thankfully, they did and the fella was finally able to come back and try again (successfully) about a week later. Whew!
It was at this point that Daddy plowed a road through their front yard over to Julie's house so we could go out her driveway to the main road. We ended up using that route for a couple of weeks because of how slick the road was and how dangerous it was to come up our driveway across the tube. So, so slick. The problem this year, along with the amount of snow and ice we have gotten, is that the temperature hasn't had many days above freezing for any of this to melt and go away. At the point when these photos were taken, we hadn't been above freezing even one time for weeks. What a mess.

| It was still a slick road, but at least it didn't have a drop off on the side! |
