You know we like trucks around here. Not only do we like them, they are a must for living and working out here at Willis Creek Ranch. We had wanted to get a group truck photo for awhile and finally were able to make it happen in November. What makes this group of trucks so special? First, they are owned by people who are all dear to me. :) But Daddy has a connection to every single one.
The 2004 Chevy that Jeremy now owns was Daddy's truck that pulled his horse trailer all over the state and out west. Then
Jackson bought that truck when he was about to turn 16. He and Brianna began dating while Jackson was driving that truck. Eventually,
Jonathan took over that truck and made it his own. He learned to drive in that truck and used it for several years. Jonathan
sold that truck to Jeremy a couple of years ago. It is a very special truck indeed.
Then there is the 1998 blue Chevy truck. That is the
truck that Jackson bought shortly after he and Brianna were married. He asked his Dad and his Grandpa to go with him to check it out before he bought it. It has long been a family thing to purchase a vehicle together. :) Jackson just sold that truck to Cody this fall. It seems a fitting transfer of ownership.
After Jonathan sold Jeremy his truck in 2017, he was able to
get a new truck, with the great help of his Grandpa. They worked out a deal similar to the one that Jackson had back when... hours of labor in lieu of cash (along with the cash from the sale of the 2004!) What a blessing!! A win/win for all.
And finally, there is the 2015 white truck. This was the
one that came home with 'new air conditioning' back in June 2015 right before our last big family trip out west. The truck Daddy had at that time had some issues with the air conditioning and he had taken it in to be worked on. I vividly remember the day he sent a text with a photo of the truck saying the air conditioning was now working perfectly. I thought it was a bit odd to send a photo of the truck with that message. It was dear Marvin who took a closer look and realized the truck in the photo was a Chevy instead of the GMC that Daddy had taken to the dealership! ha! Daddy had solved the air conditioning problem by purchasing a brand new truck. :D It was a great truck and we definitely broke it in on
that trip out west! This winter Daddy sold that truck to Jackson. It seems we have come full circle again. And again, it seems very fitting.
So there is the story of 'the trucks'. And the reason we wanted to gather everyone together and take this group photo. I love the stories that intertwine not only the trucks but the people. And I really love how the pictures turned out.
