Random May

May 2023
Random photos that didn't find their way into any other posts this month.

May 4
I love this first 'official' family photo of Brianna, Jackson, Carlile and Maverick.  Wonderful!!

Here I go again - being 'that Mom' taking a photo of an instagram post.  Sorry, not sorry.  :)  But I love this photo of Jonathan with his Ag Rho brothers doing road cleanup.  (Jonathan in checked shirt on the shoulders of his 'big brother'.)

May 8
Ag Rho had another initiation this evening for two new fellas so Jonathan was back in his sport coat and heading out for the event.  I had to take a photo - and you can see how he felt about that.  :D

May 11
Once again, Kerry and Candace had a full storm shelter as tornadoes rolled through their area.  So glad they have this shelter and so glad there was no damage near them.  It has been an active spring for them!

May 18
I loved this.  Anne texted me this photo of Zac from a meeting with the line "Have hat, will travel."  Zac really does look so good in that Harry S Truman hat and it suits him so perfectly.

You can see the hat on the chair to Zac's left.  ♡

May 24
Jackson had been working Jo in the octagonal pen.

He was taking her back to the horse barn.

water break for these hard working fellas!

May 27
Goodness, this was a beautiful evening!

I was soooo happy to be out on that back patio and could really picture how it is all going to turn out.  I am so excited!!!  I even took a selfie with some of the new deck and furniture and the new pool in the background.  :)

Candace and Kerry dressed in red for Pentecost Sunday.

Uncle Jonathan hard at work putting together Maverick's birthday present.  :D

Goose is supervising.  :)

May 30
Love this!  Deb sent me this photo of the front of her fridge - with my favorite little family on the front.  :)

May 31
I enjoyed the company of some old and dear friends on this evening.  We are all now living in the same town and realized this was probably the first time we had all been together since high school!  Fun evening on the patio...

Lora, Laura and Karri

Karri also brought me these beautiful eggs from her chickens!!  :)

Maverick - 4th week of April

April 24-26, 2023

Monday, April 24
We ended up having sweet Mav a little bit Monday morning.  That is always a nice surprise!  He played with this shape sorter while I got myself awake.  :D  ha!

Then we headed outside since it was a lovely morning.  First stop, sand box.  :)

Mav was intrigued with the work GranGran was doing in the back yard.

Marvin had ordered lumber to be delivered by Jepsons and Mav was excited when the truck showed up to deliver.  He cracked me up when he wanted to go up to the delivery driver and talk.  He said, "Hi!  You can put that in the barn."  :D  ha!  The driver said, "how about if I drop the load right here?  Is that okay?"  Maverick assured him that was okay.  :D  The driver visited with him awhile and then smiled and said, "he is a helper, isn't he?"  Yes, he is a hard worker and a helper - and loves to meet new people!

I'll move these boards... (or maybe not...) ;)

Marvin was zapping the drill toward Mav...

...he thought it was hysterically funny.  :)

Mav got to work scooping up the grass clippings in the yard - plenty to choose from right now!  :D

April 25
Jackson and Brianna had their OB appt this morning and were hopeful that they would learn that Carlile was coming soon.  they were a little demoralized because what they were told was actually a bit of a backtrack from the week before - that Carlile was not imminent - and that Brianna's due date of May 8 was likely correct, despite all that she had been feeling.

Mav was so funny this day... he was obsessed with watermelon.  And we didn't have any watermelon.  But he really, really wanted watermelon.  He became quite animated, flailing his arms around and sighing deeply... with his full array of facial expressions.  hahahaha!

Oh, the humanity!  No watermelon!!  :D

Uncle Jonathan came home from class and Mav was thrilled to spin around and around.  He would laugh and say "GO!"  Then he would say "stop, it's too scary!".  Jonathan would stop.  And then Mav would laugh and say "GO!!!!"  :D

Mav wanted to watch the Tow Truck video that he loves.  He put his own tow truck on the computer desk in front of the video.  :)

He is so funny... he wants me to sit in the chair and then he likes to climb up behind me.  This is what he does when he is getting sleepy... he twirls my hair and sucks his fingers as he quiets down toward nap time.

Until he sees that you are taking his photo... then you get this face.  :D

April 26
So this was later in the afternoon of 'the big day'!  We had been to the hospital to meet new baby Carlile, and then were visiting at Aunt Julie's house.  Mav had never seen her basement and was amazed!  :D  Funny thing... he found this little penguin toy and played with it awhile.  A few days later I was looking through photos from Jackson's birth and saw this very toy in those photos!  That toy has been around for a long time - from James all the way down to today!

Mav enjoyed coloring on some paper at the little desk Julie has.  Just his size.

That evening dear Zac came by to visit Maverick.  He had called and said he knew it was a big day for the family and he wanted to carve out some time just with Mav to help him feel special in the midst of the hubbub around Carlile's birth.  Zac is the best!
