Julie's church and our church sponsor the Clothes Closet in town and Julie signed our family up to do some work there on a Saturday. I missed a lot of it, but the rest of the family worked hard. It was nice of the lady there to take our family photo.
And I just had to take a photo of this Christmas decoration made out of coat hangers. Intriguing!! The lady said it was simple to make.
We all went to eat lunch at Take Root Cafe. I hadn't had the butternut cream gnocchi in awhile so ordered that. It is one of my favorite things to get there, although I love everything they serve!

That evening we were gathered at Mama and Daddy's when we found out that a family friend, John, was driving through town and would drop by for a visit. John and Daddy go way back and we were all looking forward to seeing him. Daddy and Mama were telling stories about John while we waited. Daddy brought out the proclamation that was given to him when he retired from ATSU that John actually wrote. He was working for Robin Carnahan at the time. Mama was telling about a long running joke that John worked into the proclamation... calling Mama 'hislovelywifeSue' as all one word. :D
We were also watching the Peach Bowl which had OU playing LSU. Of course, we were rooting for OU but pretty quickly that became a painful game to watch. Mama was busy making popcorn for all, which helped ease the pain a bit. :)
We started with a roomful of spectators for the game.
When John arrived we showed him the proclamation. He said, 'Of course that was a great proclamation... I wrote it!' :D ha! But then he also said, with emotion in his voice, that it was the most heartfelt thing he ever wrote. :)

Poor Kerry was the only one left watching the game. He is a true diehard fan. :)
This crew had ditched the game to play a round of Matthew's game.
