Maverick Sept. 28

Maverick was 'on the go' as usual!  First thing we did was take a walk out to the tractor.  

What a wonderful GranGran Maverick has.  :) 

He 'discovered' the big piles of gravel and was fully occupied for at least 30 minutes.  

He loved picking up pieces of the gravel and carrying them to the tractor. 

I guess he has seen his Dad scoop gravel in the front end loader before.  

A man diligent about his work!  :D

Getting a pretty good load there!  

We went inside the barn to check on Annie, who is having trouble with her feet.  

Maverick headed on out to the arena - 'getting things ready' for GranGran.  :) 

She is our old 'grand dame'.  She was a wonderful horse in her day - Marvin's personal ride.    Marvin puts her in the arena during the day because the sand is easier for her to walk on.  Poor girl.  

Then it was back outside - time to visit the weanlings!

This boy has no fear and is strong and agile.  He can climb anything! 

He sure does love the horses.  

And he definitely loves tractors.  :) 

Grandpa Jack came out on his daily walk - you can see him heading back to his house on the driveway. 

Mav has played until he is ready for a nap.  He and GranGran will take a little ride on the tractor to get even quieter.  Sweet boy.  

After his nap it was time for lunch! 

Grandpa Jack came up for lunch with us.  Maverick wanted to go sit with Grandpa.  

Grandpa always shares his food.  :) 

So thankful for the times we all get to spend together.

Here are random photos that didn't find their way into any other posts for the month of March.

Jackson worked on the driveway area at the entrance to the horse barn.  He widened it out and made it smooth.  There is now more area for pulling in and maneuvering trucks and trailers.  Very nice job.

Daddy and Mama sent another cute selfie!  :) 
They were enjoying the sunshine on a sunny warm day in early March.  

You may remember Joey brought gravel out here (Maverick enjoyed watching him dump the load with his dump truck!)  Jackson used that gravel to stabilize the ground in the octagonal pen and make a good foundation for adding sand later.  

We watched as he moved gravel from the pile to the octagonal pen and spread it around evenly.  He is getting pretty good at this stuff. 

Just a normal mundane sight... that does my heart a load of good.  All 'my guys' together...

What a wonderful photo!  This was after their 2nd covid vaccination.  Hallelujah!

Marvin riding Piper

I love seeing Marvin riding more often...

He and Piper were getting a good workout this day. 

Love these wine club ladies!!  And what JOY it was to see Judy join in this time!!

Love getting to have lunch with these two again!!  
(and love Jonathan hunkering down in the background - hoping he isn't in the shot)  ;) 

We enjoyed another zoom family reunion.  It is wonderful to get together with family more often than just one time a year!  Using zoom and the breakout rooms really allows us to visit and catch up.  

We took another photo when Charlotte had logged off, but then David logged on.  :) 

Jackson keeps Gus with Annie a lot of the time.  
It is hard to believe but Annie is our old dame at 26.

Annie keeps Gus in line and helps teach him 'manners'.  
He is just a baby - not even a year old. 

Marvin doesn't ride Annie anymore; she is so old and has had some health troubles
with her hooves and arthritis.  But she will always be our special Annie.  

Her winter coat is starting to come off... she (and all the horses!) will look better soon.  :)
