Once upon a time...

...or the continuing adventures of Shonda and Laura.   :)

Once upon a time there were two mommies.  They each had a little baby that they loved very much.  One Mama had a little girl and one Mama had a little boy.  They took good care of their babies.  They fed them, and changed them, and sang them to sleep.  They taught them and played with them, and prayed for them.  Little by little the babies grew.  And the Mamas were so happy.

As the babies grew the Mamas' jobs changed.  They still fed them, and taught them, and prayed for them.  Sometimes they still sang them to sleep, even if the children didn't know it.  Life was full and the Mamas were so happy.

Then suddenly one day the children were teenagers!  It went so fast!  The Mamas still fed them, and prayed for them.  They watched as their children blossomed and grew - in many ways growing away from them.  But that's how it's supposed to be.  The teenagers were becoming such wonderful people.  And the Mamas were so happy.

Even though the Mamas knew lots of people, they didn't know each other.  Until, that is, their babies, as teenagers, met and soon fell in love.  The Mamas were excited and nervous at this new turn of events.  But as soon as the Mamas met each other, they knew this was part of the story they had each prayed for.  And the Mamas were so happy.

newly engaged!

The day came when the Mamas' babies were getting married.  (Of course, they were a long way from babies, but a Mamas' heart will always hold those memories close.)  The 'children' made a beautiful bride and handsome groom.  The day was perfect in every way - from thunderstorms to sun breaking through clouds.  On that day, the Mamas AND the Daddies prayed over both the 'children'.  And the Mamas were SO happy.

Two Happy Mamas

The two Mamas have had many adventures!  They like to travel and go to IKEA.  They like to swim and float in a pool.  They like to sit and drink coffee and talk (and talk and talk).  They still love their 'babies' so much and try to take good care of them, even though that job is far different now.  The Mamas still pray over their children.  And the Mamas continue to be SO, SO happy.

What could possibly make this fairy tale any better?  What if the Mamas could grow and become something new?  What could be even better than being 'the Mamas'?  Only one thing!

One day, the children came to the Mamas and had a surprise.  They gave them each a gift.  A gift that each Mama was so happy to receive!  The Mamas now have new names... they are the Grandmas!!!!!  And the Grandmas are SO, SO, SO happy!!!!
