On February 24 we heard a loud noise coming from a field near our house. When we looked out we saw the field was 'turning white' as snow geese swirled above it and then landed. It immediately took me back to 2008 when we witnessed the very same thing. When I came in to check my blog (to double check the date of the previous event) I was intrigued to discover that the snow geese were a full week earlier this year. Yet another indication of an early spring?
While I have seen snow geese in the years between 2008 and 2017, these are the only 'big landing' events that I remember. I find myself mesmerized each time. It is fascinating to watch as the geese fly in, circle, and land with community precision. So cool!
