Hootenanny - July 9

July 9, 2022

What a perfect evening for a hootenanny!  :D  We gathered with family and friends on the patio to enjoy an evening of potluck food, music-making and good conversation.  It was hot, but not too hot, and we didn't have nearly the high humidity of recent days.

We had a wonderful turnout - Scott & Anne, Brian & Nancy, Brian's parents Jim & Vera and his brother, Bernie, Joe & Sarah, Bob & Debbie, Glen & Elaine, Daddy, Hannah, Susanna & Candace, Giulia (from Italy), Julie, Marvin, me & Jonathan.  What a nice group of folks!

We were thrilled that Joe and Sarah drove up for this!

Glen shared a lovely story and song about whistling

Giulia sang a song while Brian accompanied her on guitar.  It was so sweet.  She said it was a song she used to sing with her Dad and it made her think of him and miss.  We have really enjoyed getting to know Giulia this summer and will miss her when she returns to Italy.

Hootenanny returns!

April 2, 2022

We got the ball rolling again, after a long hiatus, with a Hootenanny at Julie's house on Saturday, April 2.  The last time we were able to gather in person was on January 2, 2020.  Sure felt good to be together again!

We enjoyed a potluck soup supper with fixings.  It was all delicious!

Dear Glen started the evening off for us with a Johnny Cash medley.  :)

So very thankful for my dear friend, Anne

We all were missing Mama on this evening.  Everyone played some of her favorite songs - that was a wonderful way to remember her.

I'm grateful for this houseful of people.  :)

Glen had written a story about the birthday present he gave his lovely wife, Elaine. He asked me to read it and I asked Elaine to stand up while I did just that.  You see the story is about the outfit she is wearing on this evening!  Doesn't she look amazing?
