But first there was a lot to do. Marvin and Jonathan loaded up Marvin's old recliner that morning and delivered it to J&B's house for Brianna to use during night feedings with Maverick, if need be. Then Marvin, Daddy and I went on our daily walk.
Later that afternoon Jonathan looked out the window and said, "Look, there is a deer in the yard!" Sure enough, a young deer was just hanging out in our front yard. Jonathan reminded us of the little fawn that spent some time underneath one of the evergreens last year. We think this could be the same deer. He seems quite content to be up close to the house and us. Not spooked at all. We just watched him until he went down by the garden. Then I went outside with the intention to spook him off. But he just looked at me. Clearly not spooked! I finally talked enough that he abled off a bit but only to the other end of the horse barn. Not a bit worried about us. Hmmm.... do we have a pet deer now???
Shonda and I each made food (specific dishes requested by Jackson and Brianna) and we all awaited the phone call that the new little family had been discharged from the hospital. Finally the call came. And this photo... Maverick's first experience in a car seat in a vehicle. He was less than impressed. :) ha!

This was the photo op with the family basket from Jeremy's side of the family. So neat! Every baby born the family has laid in this basket, starting with Jeremy's grandfather and including Jeremy's Mom, Jeremy, Brianna, and now Maverick. Maverick is the first of the 5th generation of children born the their family to lay in that basket.
