Sunday lunches

Here are photos from two weeks of Sunday lunches.  We have had such beautiful weather - crazy for August that is has been cool enough to enjoy so much time outside.  We surely enjoyed this first day since a heat advisory was going to take effect the very next day.  This cool front was replaced with typical hot August weather.  

August 22, 2021

Maverick is quite intrigued with the bird bath filled with water - it is just his height!  :)  (He likes the bird feeder, too.)  He kept making trips over there to see what he could dunk in it.  He kept the guys busy!  ha! 

This kid can eat and eat and eat!  He was still grazing after lunch was over - going around scavenging for more food people had leftover.  (I promise he is fed well!!)  :D  He got a piece of that good crusty bread from his Dad - good to gnaw on for awhile and keep him occupied!  :)

Maverick is still gnawing on the bread and looking for Goose under the chair.  :D

This is hilarious! (and a little disconcerting!)  When Maverick is eating something and feels he needs both hands to do something else, he just stuffs ALL the food in his mouth at once!  See that whole thing of bread stuffed in there??  Ha!  He 'needed' both hands to climb the tree, obviously!  

Jackson, went and got (most of) the hunk of bread out of his mouth for safety reason.  Good job, Dad!  :D 

Even so, Maverick still had a pretty good stash left to eat on - as he showed Aunt Julie.  :D 

This kid walks like he owns the whole world.  I love that.  

Maverick climbed up in my lap and was playing with my phone.  He wanted to take this photo of himself.  He was then taking photos (or at least going through the motions) of the trees.  He surely knows how to use electronic devices!  

Then he climbed on Marvin's lap and took over his cowboy hat.  :D

and off he goes...

We did hear an unfortunate crunch at one point as he pulled the sides of the hat down.  GranGran wasn't a bit worried, though.  :)  (he really needs to replace that hat anyway!)

Daddy wanted HyVee fried chicken with all the fixings - so we got it all ordered and Zac & Hannah picked it up.  It was a yummy lunch!  And Maverick still loves that bird bath!  ;)
