I'll start this post with a puzzle that we had to solve.  A dear, dear friend brought a lovely gift to Daddy, Julie, Kerry, and me at the visitation the day before.  They were comfort birds and she had them made especially for us.  They are beautifully carved birds, each one made of a different wood, and each one inscribed with 'Mama' or 'Sue' for Daddy's.  They are designed to sit comfortably in the palm of your hand - the smoothness is calming and they just give you something to hold onto.  Such a thoughtful gift.  Well, the next morning after the visitation we realized we didn't know where Daddy's was.  We all put on a search but couldn't find his.  

We began texting back and forth trying to figure out what might have happened... we all hoped that it hadn't somehow gotten left at the tent and perhaps thrown away.  Eventually we looked back through the few photos we had taken at the visitation.  They were enough to give us an idea... it looked like Daddy's bird had been on the chair next to him throughout the visitation - but as the day went on it inched closer and closer to the chairs edge.  We saw there was a potted plant below that chair and knew those plants would be returned to McClain Hall quickly - so Kerry got in his car and rushed to the tent to see if, by chance, they were still there.  They were!  And sure enough, there was Daddy's comfort bird!  It was nestled snugly in the plant looking as though it had been placed there on purpose.  Honestly, we all felt it was lovely that the comfort bird that is inscribed 'Sue' spent a beautiful night on Truman's campus under that tent and the stars after a very long day.

Our neighbor, Hannah, brought the most delicious home-made english muffins and jam - boy did we enjoy those on Sunday.  Matthew's face expresses it perfectly for all of us... yum!!!

James and Rojina arrived on this day - and they got there just a few hours before Anna and Matthew had to leave to go back home.  So for a little bit, Julie had all of her 'kids' here.  Wonderful!

As you can see... Rojina and James are expecting their first little one in September!  What joy!

James and Rojina recently bought a new car so of course we all had to go check it out.  It is such a pretty color blue - and is a Subaru Outback.  

Jennifer and I sat on the front porch for quite awhile this evening... the view was mesmerizing and the clouds were so interesting.
