Celebration BBQ

We enjoyed a celebration BBQ with Jeremy and Shonda and family. It was to celebrate the arrival of Carlile, Maverick's (upcoming) 3rd birthday, and Mother's Day. The weather was lovely, although humid, and we enjoyed sitting out under the shade trees. Lots of out of town family were able to come back to attend and we truly enjoyed getting to see everyone. It was our first time to meet Alaina's husband, Ben and Cody's girlfriend, Emily.

He knew he needed to finish his sandwich so he could begin opening his presents...

Mav clapped when he got the last bite in his mouth - and we all joined in! Ha!

At this point everyone was saying 'open the present!' Maverick finally said, "I've got to chew this up!" :D

Cody and Emily got Mav a Sea World rescue truck... Jeremy noticed the man included
had lost his leg. We joked that it wasn't a dolphin included in the set, but a shark!

Jeremy did end up finding the leg in the box and assured Maverick that it they were still in the window of being able to reconnect the leg. :) All was well.

Maverick opened the card from David and Carolyn and Shonda was reading it. It said something about what a turtle does on its birthday and Maverick wasn't sure - so he pointed at his ear (for Shonda to whisper the answer). :D The answer is... he shellabrates. :) Mav moved on. ha!

This kid - he cracks me up. He walked over and got his slide and pushed it alllll the way back to the badminton game. He had realized, I am guessing, that if he just had a little bit more height he could really join in that game. So he solved his problem! He is a thinker!
