Remembering Mama
Not only was this Memorial Day, it was the 2 year anniversary of the day Mama died. It was also the day we ended up celebrating Maverick's 3rd birthday together as a family. All of that seemed fitting - the sharing of joys and sorrows - the true tapestry of love and family and even loss.
After enjoying a birthday lunch with Maverick it was time to head to the cemetery to take flowers to Mama's headstone. They are beautiful. Red for passion, white for purity.
Another generation of kids crawling over family headstones. This is exactly how I want it to be.

| Daddy was telling us how he thinks of Mama and misses her every single day. I know he does. Love him so much. |

| I truly love this photo. Carlile was asleep in his car seat so not in it... but no one was willing to wake up a sleeping baby for a photo. :) Mama would understand this, too. :) |
