Jackson wanted to create a new pasture on the north side of the house. We used to have an arena in this location, but took it down a few years ago. Jackson envisioned creating an even larger pasture area so began laying out the groundwork and preparing the slope for building the fence. Maverick and I took a little walk to visit him near the beginning of this project - on October 19. :)
Jackson did a good job preparing the slope for the new pasture fence.
Jackson and Jonathan were digging post holes for the new pasture fence. I took the lazy way out and took photos from the doorway. :)
They had a LOT of post holes to dig...
October 21 - still digging post holes - Jonathan on the tractor, Jackson on the ground.
October 22 was a spectacularly beautiful day! Look at that perfect fall sky! All the guys were out digging post holes and setting posts. The new pasture was really beginning to take shape. They were all super focused on getting as much completed as possible - rain was coming on Sunday.

Sure enough... weather came and brought about 10 inches of rain. So the pasture fence building was put on hold until the ground could dry out enough to finish it. But on November 3, the guys were back at it hanging gates and stretching wire.

November 4 - here it is mostly completed, although I can't get it all in one photo. It is about 2 ½ acres and goes clear to the 40 acre line. Looks great and will be so useful!
