We watched Maverick Saturday afternoon, Oct. 16. He arrived really tired (had missed a nap) and ready to head for the barn and the tractor. :) Dear Uncle Jonathan obliged.
Then we saw that Butch and Larry were harvesting beans in the neighboring field. That is always so exciting to watch! Marvin and Maverick stood on the pool deck and enjoyed watching the big machinery work for quite some time. Mav just loves that.
| Then he was ready to slide on the playset... |
| ...and climb |
| Sometimes, when a boy plays hard, he has to eat two-fisted. :D |
This was neat. Brianna had been with her students at a regional music competition and shared video of their performances. We were watching the flag corp and drum corp perform and Mav was enjoying it. He kept saying 'Mom'. :) And Marvin was keeping rhythm on the high chair.
| I was so impressed with the flag corp - this is their very first year and they did a magnificent job! |

Maverick loves his GranGran and his GranGran loves Maverick. As evidenced by the 'GranGran pony'... this is why we have regularly scheduled osteopathic manipulation appts on the books. :D
| spending a little time at the piano :) |
Maverick is developing in his play - doing more things, like using the various tools with the playdoh. It is so fun to watch him develop his skills and concentration.
The little squirt was putting the playdoh knife (with a dab of playdoh) into his mouth. I was making noises and shaking my head 'yuck' to get him to stop He thought that was pretty hysterical, actually, and so kept taunting me just a bit. :D
He would raise the knife to his lips and pretend to eat some playdoh, then just laugh and laugh when I did my thing. :D
GranGran playing Peek-a-boo around the cabinet. (and that is Tarzan playing on the TV. That first image looks weird!!)
Grandpa Jack came for lunch. Such wonderful and precious times together.
Marvin and Jonathan finally had hair cuts and when they came home we decided to get a photo of them with Maverick - who had also just had his 'good attitude haircut'. Mav was wanting to touch GranGran's hair (or pound his head... unsure) :D
| What a handsome trio! |
How can you resist these little feet snuggled with your big feet? (sorry about the toe without a nail... long story.) These are Mav's new shoes that light up when he walks (or stomps). So much fun to be a kid. |
| Jackson was laying out the groundwork for the new pasture/pen. We had to go visit. :) |
| Of course we ended up at the tractor. Maverick was trying on one of the gloves left behind. |
Uncle Jonathan always shows up right when he is needed. A wonderful trait! I hope Mav realizes how special it is to have his uncle love him so much. |

Mav loves to do work. Like loading up his tractor with items to transport. It is all a very serious undertaking. :)
| Ready to go! :) |
Big stuff boy also loves to try on big hats and big boots. Adorable. :)
We sure were happy to have a visit from dear Carrie on this day. She came by just before lunch and was able to stay for a few hours. We had a lot of reminiscing to do... considering she used to take care of Jackson (and then Jonathan) at this very same age of Maverick. So many wonderful memories with Carrie and our entire family. We couldn't have gotten by without her all those years ago. And of course, Mav just fell in love with her, too. :)
| Showing off just a little for Carrie... :) |
Carrie, Mav, and I went down to visit Daddy. Carrie's Grandpa and my Daddy were such good friends for a lot of years. Our family histories go way back together.
You can see all the photos of Maverick from the month of October at this link.
I love Marvin's Gran Gran belt!! Just noticed it in the horsey ride pictures. It looks like Maverick brings so much joy to your whole family. Love, Lyn
