Random October

October 2019
So here is all the stuff that didn't make its way into a separate post.  :)

On Sunday, October 6 our church, along with several others downtown, hosted a block party after church services.  What a great idea!  It was wonderful.  There was a progressive dinner followed by various gatherings and events.  It ended with the local music group, Deadwood, performing in the gazebo area behind the First Christian Church.  I'm already looking forward to next year!

Melina and hannah were dancing to the music of Deadwood.  :)

I tried to sneak a photo of Deadwood when they were lined up... too bad the tree was between us!

Monday, October 7 - Jonathan finally chose his new hunting rifle.  He is so careful with his money and doesn't feel he has to rush out and just buy something.  So when he finally decided this was worth purchasing, it was kind of a big deal!  :D

I was so glad to get to facetime with this wonderful lady again!  I sure do miss having Jennifer around!!!  But happy she is doing so well.  :)

I took these photos of Jackson one morning when he came by.  He was checking out the video from his trail camera when Marvin's sister Carolyn called.  Jackson got to talk to her and tell her himself about he and Brianna expecting their baby in May.  :)

Monday, October 7 - This was absolutely lovely!!  We SO enjoyed getting to have another luncheon with these wonderful people!  Anne's parents, Dave and Nancy are so much fun to be around.  We already look forward to the next time!!

I got this photo of me and Marvin just because we hadn't had one taken in forever!

I took these random photos on October 12 at the SUB when I was taking the Class of '53 photos.

I just wanted a record of them.

Ahhhh Sundays.  My favorite.  :)  This was from Sunday, October 14.  Great family time after church.

On Tuesday October 15 Daddy had a teleconference with the team of a dear friend and colleague who is now at the University of North Carolina, Wilmington.  Chris had asked Daddy if he would be willing to share his thoughts on leadership with Chris's team.  I videoed the whole thing.  :)  I never pass up an opportunity to hear Daddy share stories and wisdom!!  Blessings!!

Daddy got his car back after having the hail damage fixed (that happened in our first hour out on the trip west... that I STILL have blogged about!!!)  Glad to have his car back to looking spiffy and new.  :)

Mama and Daddy were out walking on Truman's campus when they
came across Tim, who took this photo of them.  :)

What a sight!  When your oldest son posts photos of his baby ultrasounds!!
so much joy!

The bell choir performed at our church on Sunday, October 27.  I LOVE hearing the bell choir play!!

We were able to purchase a new upright deep freezer which meant we could give Jackson and Brianna our old chest type deep freezer.  What a bear to move, though!  Thankful for friends who pitch in to help!  Jackson and Brianna have room for this in their new house and they will definitely fill it up with deer meat!

Here is a video snippet of Hannah and Melina dancing at the Community Block Party

Celebrating Jonathan

Love this guy so much!  What a fine gentleman!  A kind-hearted deep thinker!  Always willing to help out in any way needed.  Proud to be his Mama.  And can't believe he turned 20 on this birthday!

We enjoyed a family dinner to celebrate his birthday (although we were a day after his official day).

You are never too old to be kissed by your Mama...  :D

Jackson pointing out to Grandma that she had been about to walk right past him without a hug!  :D

She told him she was walking over to get the desserts!  :D

:D

In the end, he not only got his hug, but a photo too.  :D

Love this one!  Daddy, Jackson, Mama, Jonathan

Cute!  Cousins!  :)
