More family arrive

More from our 'pre-family reunion' reunion.  :)  Saturday and Sunday, July 1 and 2.

But first, there is a fun story behind the cup Daddy is holding.  A few months ago dear Korin, in Oklahoma, sent us all a photo of her soda cup from Chipotle.  It said 'where there is a Willis there is a Way'.  Most of you know that 'Willis' has triple meaning for us - our address, our ranch, and Daddy's actual first name.  Daddy emailed Chipotle to see if we could get a cup.  :)  They said sure, but then discovered none were left in their warehouses.  So we just took Korin's photo and made a mug ourselves.  :D

All the 'Oklahomans' went up to Unionville and Memphis for the weekend to visit Candace's family.  It was so great that they could have that time with family, particularly with Craig and Mary on their boat on the lake.  One week later Craig and Mary would be in a plane crash with Craig suffering severe injuries.  We are so very thankful that Craig and Mary survived and that Craig will recover - although he has a very long road ahead.  All prayers for them are welcomed!!

This was pretty cool!  Candace, Rachel, Hannah, and Susanna took a 'family history' drive through the countryside together and one of the places they went was to this young couples house to see their fireplace.  Last summer, when Candace and her siblings were helping get their mom, Phyllis, moved out of her house to the nursing home, they held a garage sale.  This couple came by and ended up taking a bunch of the rocks from a garden bed at Phyllis's house.  The rocks also included Rose Rocks that the Oklahomans had given Phyllis.  This couple used those rocks, plus arrowheads and more, to create their fireplace.  How kind of them to open their home to show Candace and the girls - and what a beautiful result!

All who were in town after church on Sunday gathered at Julie's house for home cooked Nepalese food.  Diane was in from Kansas City - it was great to see her!

By Sunday evening, everyone had returned to Willis Creek Ranch and we gathered for supper together at our house.  This was also the first meal with the addition of Charlie and Tina, who drove in from Tennessee (via a brief visit in Chicago).  We were so happy that they were able to come to the reunion a little early so they could spend time with us here!  I can't believe I forgot to get a photo of the Sunday evening meal group!  Slacking...   :)

After supper Sunday evening I spied these two out in the backyard.  Hard to believe their 2 year anniversary is coming up.  Seemed like a perfect evening to 'reenact' July 18, 2015!  :)
