Maverick - 1st Week of December

December 6-8, 2022

Tuesday, Dec. 6
Maverick really engages with this toy/activity.  They are sturdy wooden blocks with colorful 'stained glass' inside (they really reflect light nicely).  They stack well and are fun to look through.  There is also a book that has outlines of the block shapes to create pictures that you can then build.  Mav can play with this set for a long time.

Mav was missing 'Pa Jack' so we went down to his house to visit him.  Mav still loves to play with this snowglobe.  I remember him playing with it last year and I also remember vividly him playing with it when Mama was still alive.  I was worried about it that time (he was less than a year old) and Mama just smiled and said to him, 'Of course you may play with that.'  I can see her face and hear her voice as she looked at him with such love.  So I don't worry about it now - and he gets so much joy and I am so glad.

And this Santa and Mrs Claus snow globe is soooo Mama and Daddy - I love that Mav loves it.  I feel like Mama is here with him and us and maybe he knows that best of all.

You can also wind it up and it plays ‘We Wish You a Merry Christmas’.  Mav was dancing to it.  :)

He loved when we shook it up and made the snow swirl and fall.

This is when he spotted the little sign on front that says Merry Christmas.

He had insisted on bringing his hammer.  He wasn’t using it.  :D

Saying 'bye' to 'Pa Jack'.

Wednesday, Dec. 7

Sweet Mav - eating his hard boiled egg with toast and a bowl of blueberries.  Wearing his batman footie pajamas.  Is there anything cuter than a little guy in footie pajamas?  Love him!

He stayed in those a good part of the day.  He (rightly) said they were comfortable.  Can’t blame him!

working with playdoh

Mav had a really short nap, but we rolled with it.  Woke up, had a snack, watched a bit of TV then went outside to play with bubbles.

It was a really pretty day.

Thursday, Dec. 8
Mav (and I) enjoyed our quiet morning time working activities from the special bins.  First the peg board.

Then the thing where you put the ‘worm’ through the holes in the ‘apple’.

Then he got out that stained glass blocks and book set.  That is a favorite.

This was his firefighter hose - he was spraying me to put out a fire.  :)

cutest fireman!

GranGran was heading to the barn and wouldn’t see Mav to say goodbye so Mav was giving him a hug.

Watching Twenty Trucks Tow Truck video on YouTube - a true favorite right now!

The Santa hat goes well with his fireman badge!  Maverick, a man of many talents!  :)
