1st Saturday of the fair

Even though we all went to bed late, everyone awoke early Saturday morning.  The kids set off for the fair as a group.  Marvin and I were running a bit behind them but were happy to catch a tram in the campground.  We had to laugh as we approached Mathewson Center and spotted all the kids waiting to get on a tram.  There was plenty of room on our tram!  :)  We rode around the fairgrounds and got off to have lunch at Trucks.

After lunch, we all walked through the machinery area and I got several good photos.  Seems we have been taking these 'big tractor' photos for a lot of years...

I love this one!  Looks like an album cover!  :)

Marvin and I spent some time in the afternoon watching the Mule Hitches at Mathewson.

The boys were amusing themselves with this competition back at the campsite.  :)

For supper, we ate at Jacksons BBQ with Daddy, Adrian, Jonathan, Zack, and Nathan.  We got there just ahead of a big line.  Afterward we went to get ice cream at Gerken Dairy Center.  I had my first Mocha Cappuccino of the fair!  :)  Then it was back to Mathewson for the jumping mules.  We only got to see a little bit of that, though, before it was time to head to the grandstand for the Alan Jackson/Leann Womack concert.  The concert was wonderful!!  Both are so talented and they put on a very entertaining show.  Jim was able to come with us as we had one extra ticket.

One the way home from the concert we stopped and got some funnel cakes to share at the camper.  Another late night, but a truly marvelous day.
