2nd Friday of the fair

Friday morning I tidied up the camper, ran to Aldi for a stock up, and picked up cousin Liz when she arrived for the weekend at the fair.  Jim and Lucy brought us a sweet gift of a set of bamboo pillows they purchased at the commercial building.  We love them!!

Mama, Daddy, Liz, and Uncle Mitch

We had supper at the Pork Place (the boys tried something new - the pork loin salad - tasty!!) then headed to the draft horse hitches.  We love this part of the fair!  The draft horse hitches are unique and wonderful to watch.  I spend the entire time really excited and slightly terrified all at the same time.  :)

Zack and Liz went to the Red Dirt Country concert

This year, Robert Sparrow was the superintendent of the draft horses.  He would come out in between classes and share information from his years of experience.  I really appreciated that.  His nephew, Tim Sparrow, was the judge.

Here come the sixes!!

It was fun to run into Anita in the hallway
during the draft horse hitches  :)

my favorite hitch team - Messenger Hitch from Wyoming

I like this team a lot - they are from NEMO, too.  Hersch Belgians

an arena full of 6 draft horse hitch teams - beautiful!

That night we got home to the camper just before another big storm.  The wind was strong and strange with this one... I could hear and feel it whipping around the camper in a swirling motion.  Then I saw a drip coming from the top of the sofa slide out.  Not good.  Had to wake up Marvin to take a look.  It ended when the wind ended.  We think it must have been because of that wacky wind.  Nothing like that has ever happened before.
