The first order of business was to get her safely back into the barn before she could run completely off. Thankfully, all these months of working with her have paid off and she responded to the sound of Jonathan's voice calling her name. She walked into the barn straight to him and he was able to put her safely back in her stall.
Then Jonathan and Marvin walked around to try to determine how she had gotten out in the first place. That is when we all saw that one whole side of the outdoor pen had been knocked down. We aren't completely sure what happened, but something came along that scared Piper enough that she knocked the fence down, including one post, and leaped out of her outdoor stall pen. Thank goodness she didn't take off while we were in town! And amazingly, she wasn't really hurt - just a few little cuts and scrapes.
