Hannah's Graduation

After a lovely day of visiting the Harn Homestead, we all cleaned up to attend the first graduation ceremony of the weekend, Commencement at OU.  Because the university is so large, they spread the celebrations out across two days.  Friday night is the official commencement with President Boren in attendance, the guest speaker, and all the PhD candidates.  Bachelors and Masters candidates actually receive their diplomas on Saturday in individual college Convocations.  Typically this is held outdoors, but since it was raining it was moved inside the Lloyd Noble Center.  Ironically, this very same thing happened two years ago when we attended Rachel's and Stephen's graduation.  :)  It is a great facility, though and seats a gazillion people (from my very scientific appraisal).

Convocation of the College of Arts and Sciences began at 10:00 a.m. Saturday morning.  The place was filled to the brim, which confirmed that only a portion of graduates actually attend commencement!  There would NEVER be enough room for all the colleges!  We spotted Hannah walking in and were able to watch her all the way through the ceremony.   :D

What an exciting and momentous day for our dear Hannah.  We are so proud of her!

Sadly, we were missing Mama and Daddy for this occasion.  They couldn't come (again) because OU graduation was held on the same day as ATSU/KCOM graduation.  Daddy likely would have been missed.  :)

Following convocation we went back to Kerry and Candace's to enjoy a meal together with family and friends.  What a truly lovely day all around.
