Easter 2019

We had a wonderful Easter 2019.  After a beautiful and meaningful church service we gathered with family and friends here at the house for a great meal together.  Julie was able to travel down to be with Anna and Matthew, and while we sure missed being with all of them, we were so glad they were able to be together!

The night before Easter Megan and Hannah came over to get ready for a huge Easter egg hunt.  Megan was a little excited!!  :D

Those girls filled 300 eggs!!

I made a bunch of cookies the day before.

The girls set the table for me.

Then it was time for the big Easter egg hunt.

Even Mama got in on the hunt!  :)

Daddy too!

There were a few on top of the stalls that were hard to get!  :)

Hannah found a real egg!

It was warm and some of the chocolate had melted!  :)

Time for some kite flying!

The 'steps to nowhere' seemed like a good platform for the kite flying.  :)

Jackson and Brianna enjoying the new patio furniture!  :)

Success with the 2nd kite!

Updating the patio

I have been so excited about this!  Our patio has never been a focus of much thought for us and last summer I realized I would like very much to have a more functional and usable space out there.  When Jackson and Brianna moved into their new house I offered them our old patio table and chairs and then set out to find something for us.  In the middle of winter there was a HUGE sale on patio furniture and I jumped!  I won't mention the detail of the massive delivery truck trying to make his way out here in this ice filled winter we had... or Marvin having to use the tractor to meet him halfway and bring it up to the house... all while sliding on ice!  ha!  But, since it all worked out I can say it was worth it! The furniture has been sitting in boxes in the basement ever since as we waited for decent weather (and also health situations where we could even think about it!)  We got there just before Easter!  Jackson and Jonathan carried all the heavy boxes up from the basement and got the main table put together for me.  That got the ball rolling and Marvin felt up to working on the remaining pieces.  Just in time for our Easter celebration, we had our new patio furniture set up and ready to use!  I am so happy!!  :)

That is a lot of boxes in the mud room!

Jonathan carrying pieces out to the garage to assemble.

I sure do love these three fellas!

And here were the chairs... sans cushions

I asked Megan and Hannah if they would arrange the pieces on the patio for me...

I love what they did!

Then these photos were taken a couple days later
after I had purchased some throw cushions.

And then there is my Aldi find - the storage box for under $50!!
All 10 of the throw pillows fit in there!

Bring on summer!!  :)
