Random December

Random photos from December 2021 that won't make it any other posts...

Soooo... I wanted to do something nice for all our wonderful delivery folks.
It was several days before I saw that I asked them to help 'your elves'
instead of 'yourselves'.  sigh...  Yet, very punny for this time of year, I know.
(and yes... I corrected it)  :D

Marley and his sweet 'hospice kitty'...  (remember... this is the dog who, in his younger years, acted like he wanted to EAT cats.)  :D

Incredible!  Julie just picked these tomatoes from her garden!!
Fresh garden tomatoes in December - in MISSOURI!

Marvin and I drove down to renew my DEERS card... I remember when the boys were little they loved coming here and seeing all this.  Time goes by so fast...

Daddy enjoyed breakfast with Maria

Marley and 'hospice kitty' in the Dogloo.  :)

got some nice covers for the patio furniture so we don't have to store it all away in the barn

Rojina sent Daddy this sweet photo of Aasha Lee

getting there...

the fellas were replacing the handle on that door for me

Burning leaves in the lot and it kind of took off... but they got it under control quickly.
Leaves always put off a ton of scary looking smoke.

at Daddy's house

Love this photo from dear Jennifer - celebrating her birthday with her parents.
Three of my favorite people in the world right here!

So Marvin and I have been exploring the world of Columbia food options with all the doctors visits lately.  Last time we were so wanting a milkshake to celebrate good news so stopped at Sonic.  It was packed and we were excited to have our shakes.  We both took one drink and looked at each other... they were disgusting!  I don't know what Sonic is doing with shakes now, but they do not taste like milk and/or ice cream at all!  We threw them in the trash.  So disappointing. So this visit we were determined to get good milkshakes.  We stopped at Five Guys and enjoyed their super tasty burgers and YUMMY milk shakes!  Thank goodness!!  :D

As I was coming home from Walmart I just had a desire to drive by Mama’s headstone.  I see what Daddy means - sometimes it is just nice to see her name.  I had to smile when I was thinking about the wonderful 'coincidence' with Nobles and it occurred to me that they are again on a gravel road east of town.  :)

once again on a gravel road east of town...

Our Christmas with Jackson, Brianna and Maverick

December 29, 2021

This was the night we had our family Christmas.  We had carry out Kings Buffet (yum!!) and enjoyed the evening together.

Jackson. Brianna, Marvin, Jonathan (Maverick was playing)

When Maverick first arrived he saw a few unwrapped presents under the tree.  Of course he wanted them right away but we had the gall to try to get him to eat first.  (honestly, what were we thinking??)  :D  I gave him this one and at first he wasn't interested in putting it on his head.  But then his Mama and GranGran both wore it and he decided to give it a try.  Jackson took a photo of him wearing it and showed it to him.  He was all in at that point!  "Blue on my head!"  :D   (it is a bike helmet)

He got some new trucks - he and Uncle Jonathan were playing with them.  :)

This turned out to be the toy of the evening... actually of the whole winter into spring!  We got him this little dual bin table and filled it with dry beans.  Oh my goodness... he loved it!!  He started right in playing with it and didn't stop!

He was being so careful carrying the beans in his scoop to where he wanted to load them into the trucks.  Such concentration!

After awhile we went to the Christmas tree to unwrap presents.  Marvin was having a pretty difficult time seeing on this particular evening.  I videoed everything so he could watch later and really see Mav's face.

This was a present for Mav from dear Carrie and Kiersten!

He loved his fire chief outfit - here he is putting out a fire on the green tent.  :D

Mav put his Dad to work assembling the balance bike.  :D

How's it coming, Dad?

Let me know when you have it done!

yay!  Dad has the balance bike assembled and ready!  :)

and he was off!!

Mav rode all around the house on that bike!

And there you have it - fire chief outfit, green tent, bin full of beans,
and a balance bike.  Life is good.  :D

sweet gift from J&B&M for proud Uncle Jonathan

Mav ready to open one more bag of beans. :D

Jackson reaching out the tape measure to annoy his brother. :)

Mav was ready to ride his bike home...

It cracked me up - he headed out of the garage on this cold, dark night and was going to head on down the driveway.  This kid has no fear!  :)

Hey, don't you think a ride home in the car would be better?
"nah!"

Bike and boy being carried to the car... foiled again.  :D

Here is a full album of photos from this evening (and a few from Christmas Eve, as well.)
