May 18-20 was our last week of babysitting Maverick on a regular schedule as this was the last week of school for dear Brianna. It is funny to me how long ago this feels... this was back when we had 'plans' for the summer. But thankful for the way we spent our time - together as family - no regrets.

Jonathan helping Maverick walk down the stairs - kid is getting good at it!
Lunch time means Daddy comes in and you get to play with him a bit!
Maverick wanted to go touch things - so we walked around an investigated plants. He was a little nervous to touch some but I would touch them and hold the for him and then he would touch them. He is such a curious little guy. I love it!
He found that big ole leaf in the yard and just carried it around for awhile. :)
And back to one of his favorite things out here - he loves this! And knows how to work it!
We went down to visit Grandpa Jack and Grandma Sue and took a stroll through their house. He was investigating everything...
What a wonderful long hallway to run down!
Back home and having a snack with GranGran.
Yay! So happy to see his beautiful Mama at the end of the day!

The weather was just brutal! Rainy and super high humidity, but too cold to get in the pool. Everything was wet and the grass was growing as we watched it. But it was way too wet to cut. However, you can always take a wagon ride if you have a wonderful GranGran. :)
Maverick and I went to visit 'Auntie Deb'. :) She is definitely earning that status! Sweet Deb had a birthday gift for Maverick that he got to open while he was there.
Of course, he loved playing with the paper most of all!
What a happy little guy... and he was off and running with his new toy!
We went on a short walk around the neighborhood before the humidity just did us in. We ran into Joey who was also out for a neighborhood walk. SO wonderful to see this guy! And it was neat to have him meet Maverick. Although Maverick was pretty much 'in a zone' from being lulled almost to sleep in the stroller - so he wasn't really having it. :D ha!
We saw these fellas in the yard when we got home.
Maverick was tired but he wanted to see his Dad and Bailey - so Uncle Jonathan obliged.

Here is what I wrote in my personal journal for May 20...
This was our last day of babysitting Maverick on a regular schedule for the school year. Kind of melancholy in a way! I am looking forward to having a bit more time for other things this summer (projects, patio & pool time) but oh I am going to miss having him here all day several days a week. Shorter visits just aren't the same as having him here all day. :) Will enjoy the summer and look forward to coming back to this routine in late August when school starts again for dear Brianna. What a joy and a blessing it has been to be able to be together and babysit and get to truly KNOW Maverick. Love this kid so much!
He is so funny... he gets in the wagon and gives you 'the look' - come and push me!! :)
I love how he loves to read books!
We enjoyed one more family lunch with Grandpa Jack and Grandma Sue... (so thankful for these lunches we did all winter/spring)
Maverick was playing peek-a-boo with Grandma Sue. :) ♡
Maverick and I were watching from the patio as Jackson and Jonathan got Roxie & Chloe from the octagonal pen - just before the rain came.
Wonderful Uncle Jonathan playing with Maverick in the sand box. :)
Maverick feeling the horse brush - the bristles are prickly!
My heart overflows with joy...
One last look as we head back to the house - getting to be nap time...
Ha! Maverick called for Uncle Jonathan to come sit with him on the chairs. Very specific orders. After Jonathan did what he asked, he got the grumpy face. ha! (It was nap time!) :D
After nap time and all is well. :D
