Maverick minute by minute

I'm Grandma Laura and I may have a problem.  I take too many photos of Maverick.  Sorry.  (NOT actually sorry)   This little guy enthralls me!  And I find myself documenting his expressions in rapid fire sometimes.  For instance, on this day...

Whether it is his gleefulness while assuring all that no, he is NOT tired...  :) 

He looks like such a boy here - not a baby...

I'm fine, Grandma...

I can't believe you think I'm tired...

I'm not tired at all...

although I might just rest my heavy head for a minute...

Nope!  Gotta keep running!

... or his excitement to have the deck of waterproof playing cards open (since these are a strange plastic they are okay for him to chew on)  ha!   :D  

Or after nap time when he curls up on the sofa and spends almost 30 minutes looking at books!  This kid knows the way to my heart!!  :)  He is so intent on his 'reading' and will go through a whole pile of books at one time.

he even reads books upside down!  ha!  :D 

This is one of his favorites, for sure!

We pull out stacks of books his Daddy and Uncle used to enjoy...

Of course, after reading you sometimes need a quick wagon ride while doing the daredevil bit of standing up!  :D  (his expressions here just crack me up!)

To celebrate you can attempt to eat a plastic ball from your dump truck set...

Busy Maverick

What a busy little guy Mr. Maverick is.... Go, Go, Go all day long.  :)  Here are some snippets from a recent Tuesday with him. 

Maverick was looking up at his Daddy as he went up the stairs (again).  

He can do this all day long...

Jackson decided to teach Maverick how to 'walk' down the stairs...  :) 

Then it was time for a concert by Maverick.  He has been playing the piano from the ground by reaching his hands up to the keys, but this time his dad let him sit on his lap right at the piano.  Exciting!  Maverick really got into it.  He is definitely a musical kid.  He would play keys all up and down the piano and had some good rhythm and melody going at times! 

But the cutest was when he would stop and look at us and clap (encouraging our behavior to model his) and then would start playing again (for his devoted audience).  :)

Maverick loves his little wagon.  This time he was piling into it and then trying to pull himself around.  :)

In this photo Jackson has his hand up to Maverick’s mouth and is jiggling it so that when Maverick is making sound it comes out ‘wobbly’.  How do you say?  Anyway, Maverick loves this!!  He grabs his dad’s hand and puts it to his mouth and starts making sound so that he can do the sound.  He loves it and we all laugh.  :)

This was Maverick crying in dismay when his Dad finally got tired of doing it!!  ha!!  (you will have to watch the video part of this (way below)... it is funny!

It always seems to take both of these guys to get Maverick cleaned up after lunch.  :D 

Maverick’s shirt was pretty wet and we didn’t have a spare so Jackson got the hair dryer to do a quick dry.  Maverick doesn’t like the hair dryer so was skirting around the whole thing... but watchful.

However, Maverick does like when his Dad plays with him!  You maybe can’t see but Jackson is aiming the hair dryer at Maverick and he can feel a little on his tummy.  :D  

And this is Maverick’s new trick... he has learned to climb on the ottoman and then he likes to stand up, because of course he does!  :D

Nap time is sweet time... love this boy so much.
