February has been a long month for people AND horses. On this particular morning Jackson decided to turn the horses that had spent the most time in the barn out to the octagonal pen. They were all ready to get some energy out, that is for sure! We had not fully realized how deep some of the drifts were in the pen until the horses started running through them. They sure were fun to watch!

Next came Jim. He needed a bit of a workout for behavior issues on the way to the pen... Jackson handles these things so well.

Now comes Bella...

Now Bailey is added to the group. And Jackson is in the octagonal pen with them.
There are definitely personality dynamics - Piper and Bella don’t like Jim at all. But then there are hierarchies even with the ‘ladies’ of Piper, Bella and Bailey. There was some kicking and snorting going on, but mostly it was fun to watch them cavort in the snow. Piper is the prettiest horse we have out here, in my opinion. She just looks regal. Always has.
