Random May

There was only one thing about the new truck that we would have changed - it was the side mirrors.  You might recall that the mirrors that came on the truck as purchased were quite small.  Prior to a camping trip we finally made the decision to replace the small mirrors with larger mirrors more suitable to pulling.  Our friend Gail got the mirrors ordered for us and then installed them.  They look great!!  And they worked perfectly for our trip pulling a camper.  I'd say the truck is pretty much perfect now.  :D

they do extend out for when we are pulling a camper

Several of us gathered at Villa Italia to celebrate Chris's birthday.  A wonderful time of fellowship with friends.

Didn't have one photo where everyone's eyes were open, so am posting two.  :D

Thankful for dear friends who loan us chairs and tables for various events - even when those events aren't taking place at our own home!  Blessings abound!

Mother's Day

Mother's Day was the next day following Truman graduation.  We all decided to go out to eat for lunch, even though we don't usually do that on Mother's Day because of how busy it always is.  However, we were tired enough that we sure didn't want to cook!  We enjoyed a lovely lunch at 1000 Hills Lake Restaurant.  It was a grand idea, I do have to say!  :)

Matthew, Anna, Mama, Daddy, Brianna, Jackson

Then that evening we headed out to the Broaches to enjoy supper cooked by these three fine young people!  :)

When I arrived Shonda had a surprise for me... but it was a surprise from Marti (who was out of town on vacation).

It was such a special gift!!!  Marti filled a blue mason jar with wheat kernels - a nod to The Broken Way by Ann Voskamp.  I love it so much!!  What a lovely reminder!!!  Here is a link to a blog post that will give you some insight into all of this - but I highly recommend you read The Broken Way for yourself!  :)

It will be a framed family photo from when Jackson
took the Cornerstone Church directory photos.

my gift from 'the kids' was a PW cutting board & knife

After we left Shonda sent me snapshots of the continuing adventures.  They got out the goats, Mow and Trim!  (don't you love their names??)   :D

Truman graduation day

We got home from Silver Dollar City just in time for Truman graduation weekend.  We had three graduates to celebrate this year - Matthew, Megan, and Jeff!  Because Stokes Stadium is being renovated there was a slight change to the graduation ceremony... it was broken up into 3 separate ceremonies and all were held in Pershing Building.  Megan and Matthew walked in the 9:00 a.m. ceremony while Jeff walked in the 4:00 pm ceremony.  We gathered at Julie's house in between for a picnic lunch.  We are so proud of all three graduates!

Marvin and Chester came in from the barn (literally) to get a quick bite to eat.  They spent all day long working on the horses hooves that day.  :)
