Maverick, pizza, and slides

Tuesday, May 11, 2021

I'd say this was just about a perfect day! We got to babysit Maverick, then had carry out pizza with the family, followed by a family slide show. Absolutely wonderful!

Maverick likes to start most mornings with a walk up and down the stairs.  He is getting quite good at this!  :)

We had a little coloring session today.  He was quite intrigued with the whole thing!  I pulled out some crayons (regular sized) and some blank paper just to see if he would have any interest.  He does!  So jumbo sized crayons and a coloring book are now in my shopping cart.  :)  This kid is so curious and loves trying new things.

Uncle Jonathan's 3D printer was running... Maverick was looking at every single part and taking it all in.  He doesn't get to go in Uncle Jonathan's room very often and he was thrilled!

Maverick is holding one of the pieces Jonathan made recently on the 3D printer... and still gazing in wonder at the printer itself.  :)

After lunch Maverick and I took a walk down to visit Grandpa Jack and Grandma Sue.  I didn't think to take any photos while down there, but we took this one on the way back when Maverick wanted to stop and take a good look at Gus and Annie.

I didn't take these photos - Hannah shared them with me.  They were taking Presto the dragon around and getting his photo with various places/people up here.  Like Jackson and Bailey in this instance.  :)

Then it was time for our last family dinner/gathering of this trip with the Oklahomas.  We ordered carry out pizza for all - much easier!  Thankful that Pizza Hut (and Dominos) have gluten free pizza!  I ordered and Brianna picked it all up on her way out here.  It was nice to not have to cook and wonderful to gather all together!

After dinner we gathered to look at old family slides.  Hannah was videoing so we could capture the stories and conversation.  Poor Maverick... he just couldn't understand why we would have this nifty contraption all set up at his eye level and not allow him to play with it!  It really was awful!  He is so cute and determined and it almost broke my heart to not let him thoroughly investigate!  He kept trying, though... he is very focused.  :D

"I can run that camera for you, Hannah!"

Jackson, Brianna, and Maverick finally had to pack it in.  So very glad they were able to stay as long as they did!  Love this sweet little family so much!

Saying their goodbyes to the Oklahoma crew

After watching slides for several hours, the Oklahomas headed out.  Marvin went to turn off the lights in the garage and lock up and discovered that they were, in fact, still out there taking photos!  This one must have been taken just before Marvin opened the door...

He opened the door and discovered them there, then closed it - then opened it again like this for a perfect photo bomb!   hahahahahaha!

And here I am coming to remove my errant husband and close the door for them.  :D

And now here is a lovely photo of the 6 together.  Dear Julie took this photo - I didn't even think to offer I was so busy 'distracting' Marvin.  ;)  hahahahaha!

So very thankful for our time together - it was wonderful and we so look forward to the next opportunity.  Thankful for vaccinations, too!!!

Monday with family

May 10, 2021

After two full days of festivities, Monday was a quieter day.  Everyone had some down time to relax.  My fellas got the pool set up started.  yay!!

It was sure a pretty day!  Cold, but pretty.

Candace, Rachel, Hannah, and Susanna walked up to meet Roxie and Chloe.  I sure appreciate Hannah taking these photos and sharing them with me.

Chloe is warming up to folks now...

Jackson is improving in his roping.

Heading out to see the rest of the horses in the field.

Look at that sky!  What a beautiful day!
