Wind Symphony

Several of us attended Brianna's Wind Symphony I concert a couple weeks ago.  Not only did we get to hear Wind Symphony perform, but the Lebanon High School band were guest performers at the beginning of the concert.  They were great!  We really enjoyed hearing them.  Then, during the Wind Symphony concert one of the percussion students was featured in a song.  Turns out he is a graduate of Lebanon High School.  Nice that he was highlighted on a day that his former high school was visiting.  He played the marimba.  Wow!  What an instrument and what a great job he did!  It takes a certain athleticism to play the marimba!  Stellar performance.  We were seated behind his Mom and brother and congratulated them on his fine solo.  :)

Himalayan Night

We were so happy to be able to attend Namaste Nepal Himalayan Night this year.  It is always a fun evening and we appreciate the opportunity to sample some of the food and culture of our dear Nepali friends.  This year Mama and Daddy were honored guests - so very nice.

Julie is the faculty advisor for Namaste Nepal student group.  :)

Daddy gave a short talk about fusion.  Although the topic may have been a surprise to them, any of us who know Daddy recognize that his message of hope for this bountiful energy source is not only his passion, but a vital topic of concern.  I believe they heard his message and will remember what he said as they move forward in their own lives.  It is so very important.

Meeting Olive, Take 2

To say I was excited to visit Olive's house again would be an understatement.  :)

Deb and Bryan had determined that the Olive Gilbreath McLorn house would be the perfect location to host a Murder Mystery dinner for Bryan's colleagues during their upcoming retreat.  Since Bryan hadn't seen the house, Sheryl opened it up to show him (and it required a bunch of us to go along and 'supervise').   ha!  This time around I focused my picture taking more on photographs and documents in the house.  I wanted to catalog some of the rich history and story of Olive & David.  I simply can't get enough of them!

Unsurprisingly, Bryan was fully on board with renting the house for the event and became yet another 'Olive fan'.

I love this photo of Olive

This trunk holds many treasures in photo albums.

This was pretty amazing!  :)  Bryan saw this beautiful silver case in a box and it turned out to be one of Olive's lipsticks.  And it was in perfect condition, even after all these years!  Wow!

the picture doesn't do it justice - is was a stunning lipstick case
complete with an attached flip up mirror.

This was fascinating, especially since we know that Olive was 'dumped'
(her words) by a man for Tolstoys niece... (pictured here with Olive)
