Random August... yes, August

Sorting through photos and realized I had forgotten to post about several more random events in August.  Because my mind just can't move on until I have 'tidied things up', here they are.

Back before the state fair Marvin, Jonathan, Daddy, and dear friend Adrian headed up to Downing to pick up some furniture that will eventually go to Oklahoma for Candace and Rachel.  The first step was to get it from Candace's Mom's house to Julie's garage.  Then later this month Daddy will deliver it all to the Oklahoma folks.  We sure appreciated Adrian pitching in to help!!

Unloaded and safely stored in Julie's garage

We gathered for a family meal at Julie's house on Aug. 4 to celebrate Mama and Daddy's 61st wedding anniversary.  What a tremendous blessing!!

I loved finding these photos in our family photo stream.  Jonathan took them as we were hooking up to head out for the state fair.  In spite of the wandering family he was born into, his very favorite place in the whole world is Willis Creek Ranch.  He took these photos to carry with him while away for two weeks.  I love that boy.  And he sure helps me keep many things in perspective.

It really IS a beautiful place!!

Daddy took these photos of the sunflowers at the old wedding site.  Lovely!

Daddy sometimes sends us photos of the view from his front porch as he and Mama enjoy their morning cup of coffee.  This is the view of my childhood... and I still think that is the prettiest front yard anywhere.

This is sort of bittersweet.  After the fair Daddy got the horse trailer all cleaned up and left it hooked up down by the horse barn.  The reason was that he and Mama had decided to trade it in on a new camper.  They delivered the horse trailer to the new owner just last week.  Their new camper is on order and they will pick it up in late October.  It is bittersweet because Daddy has had that horse trailer since 2000 and it has served them so very well.  It also signals a change in things here at Willis Creek Ranch.  We no longer take our horses off the property.  In fact, we realized we hadn't taken horses anywhere in that horse trailer for 2 years.  Wow.  It is a new era and as always with big change, there are happy things and sad things all mixed in together.  But, the happiest thing is that Mama and Daddy are going to have so much room and luxury in their new camper!  And we are all looking forward to seeing them spend many happy hours in it.  The start of a new era!
